Owen Dolen Recreation Center

Owen Dolen Recreation Center remains closed to the public until further notice. Some recreation centers are being used for COVID-19 testing and vaccination services, the Learning Bridges program, and critical seasonal training. Anticipated Completion: Fall 2021

As a part of our Anchor Parks initiative, reconstruction of the southern section of St. Mary's Park is now underway. This project includes reconstruction of the park’s pathways, passive central area, amphitheater and west comfort station. Follow this project on the Parks Capital Tracker for updates.

Brownsville Recreation Center Pool

The indoor pool is closed at this location.

Brownsville Recreation Center

Brownsville Recreation Center is open with limited access due to construction. The Golden Age side of the building is open, while the main side of the building is closed. Grand Army Plaza

The Bailey Fountain is turned off in preparation for the plaza's renovation, which is slated to begin in July 2022. Visit the Prospect Park Capital Projects Tracker to learn more about the project.

Paerdegat Basin Park

Ecology Park is a five acre site set within Paerdegat Basin Park. The goal of the park is to promote habitat restoration and ecological improvement, highlighting fourteen native plant community types that exist or once existed in New York City. Ecology Park is only open at certain times of year when Parks staff are present in order to protect this unique landscape. Want to visit? Red Hook Recreation Area

Anticipated Completion: Spring 2023

We're reconstructing the running track and converting soccer fields 3-5 and ballfields 1-4 from natural turf to synthetic turf. Starting July 6, 2021, this site, including the track, will be closed to the public for the duration of construction (approximately through spring 2023). The Salt Marsh Nature Center

Brian Watkins Tennis Center

The Brian Watkins Tennis Center at East River Park is currently closed as part of the East Side Coastal Resiliency Project.

John V. Lindsay East River Park

The section of East River Park south of Stanton Street is temporarily closed due to construction as part of the East Side Coastal Resiliency Project, which will protect Lower East Side residents and waterfront parks from coastal storms and sea level rise. East River Park remains open north of Stanton Street. For access to open park areas, use entrances at E. Houston Street, 6th St Bridge, or 10th St Bridge. Fort Washington Park

The Hudson River Greenway path north of the West 181st Street Pedestrian Bridge is open, as sinkhole work is complete. Retaining wall reconstruction will resume in spring 2023, so stay tuned for service updates.

The pool lift at this location is currently out of service. We are working to replace the lift as soon as possible.

The Fitness Room will be closed from January 17, 2023, to January 20, 2023, as we address our facility's HVAC needs. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Inwood Hill Nature Center

Kayak/Canoe Launch Sites
Muscota Marsh

Anticipated Completion: Summer 2021

The East Dock at Muscota Marsh is temporarily closed for repairs. As an alternative, please use the boat launch at Inwood Hill Park or at Sherman Creek.

Roger Morris Park

Roger Morris Park will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Morris-Jumel Mansion is open Thursdays and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Tony Dapolito Recreation Center

Tony Dapolito Recreation Center is closed until Spring 2024 due to structural issues found during an construction project on the center’s exterior and is currently being addressed and rectified.

Marinas
West 79th Street Boat Basin

The 79th Street Boat Basin marina is currently closed. No vessel dockage, moorage, anchorage or launch services are available. The marina will be dredged and reconstructed to modern codes and standards. The marina is anticipated to reopen in 2025. Related inquiries may be sent to boatbasin@parks.nyc.gov

Flushing Meadows Corona Park Pool & Rink

Marinas
World's Fair Marina

Due to a major planned reconstruction project, Pier 1 at the World's Fair Marina is currently closed. Limited transient dockage is available for smaller recreational vessels - please contact the Dockmasters office at 718-478-0480 or VHF Ch71 for more information. There is no dockage available for larger vessels or commercial vessels, including passenger pick-up and drop-off. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please check back with the World's Fair Marina in the future for updates.
